Just like every other 90s child, I used to be obsessed with choker necklaces. I was one of those wannabe fashion victims, who never took her tattoo choker off - and I mean it when I say NEVER. Still today though,  I remember how weird this thing felt around my neck - but even back in the day, I knew that sometimes BEAUTY is PAIN.

Today, almost 15 years later, the chokers are back - and they are prettier than ever.

Last year, it was again all about the tattoo chokers, but I just wasn't willing to follow this trend anymore. But this year it's all about thin delicate chokers; often they are just suede laces that are wrapped around the neck. How can someone find these not beautiful?!

Nonetheless, I still have a giggle, whenever I see a choker or put one on. And the reason for that is the lady you can see in the second picture.  This, ladies and gents is Mathilda from the movie Léon a.k.a 14-year-old Natalie Portman a.k.a the choker queen herself.

This fact by itself is not funny at all.

But if you know the South Korean band BTS and the fact that BTS' leader Kim Namjoon, also known as a walking fashion catastrophe, used to wear these kinds of chokers a lot during the past summer, the situation changes. Back in August last year, when BTS was in Thailand for promotions etc., they filmed a segment for the Korean app 'V', in which leader Kim Namjoon wore a stripped T-shirt and a black suede choker. - I don't think that it's necessary to explain, who he looked like.

Just like me, his fellow band members recognized the faint (xD) resemblance to Mathilda and of course put their thoughts into words.

Ever since, I can't look at chokers without having a picture of Kim Namjoon in a stripped shirt and a choker around his neck in mind - and next to him there is Mathilda.
